Meanwhile, Floridians are breaking out their thermal undies and goose down parkas:

Sweetie's pulling in all her potted plants to protect them, and she'll be covering some of the temperature-sensitive shrubs. I'm like "plant hardier plants!!" which isn't going down too well. <shrug>
Only the ones born here. 1/2 the state is snowbirds, running around in shorts..Most of them can’t drive, no matter where they are….

I joke about transplants getting "Florida blood" in their veins. Sweetie and my FIL are complaining about the cold, and they're native NYers. Yep, the 'birds are obvious, they ARE running around in tee shirts, flip flops and shorts.

...or any time of year. Gracious, there are some seriously impaired (visually, mentally, functionally) Q-Tips here who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a steering wheel.

I moved to TN in '95. Went back to Naples in 2004, left again in 2006. I used to walk by GF's dog like that when it was in the 50's. That was the whole time I was there. I'll step out here in the 20's with flip flops on and no shirt to start my car before work.

I start my car and warm it up from the comfort of my kitchen table while enjoying a cuppa’ joe.

I do the same in August to cool it down, except I am probably drinking iced tea.

Bipolar shit here. Was 65° and sunny after the -35°, then it dropped to mid-10's and we got 2" of snow overnight, warmed back up in to the 60's again and my house turned in to a mud track, now it's hovering in the mid-30's and we had a snow squall blow through but only 1" of snow that stuck. 40's and 50's called for the rest of the week with no snow and single digit overnight temps.

8' of snow and counting... still snowing on/off as wrap around bands of snow go thru. Low is over the Twin Cities on the eastern side of the state. Have to dig out the back deck enough to get to the pellet stove vent. The fresh air intake is blocked partially so burning lazy/dirty.

oops LOL what I get for typing with my glasses off...

Total for the storm is 12" supposedly. Hard to tell when it was blowing south into IA! Co-op had to bring the front end loader up to move it back, yard in front of the house is getting to full to pile much more

Woke up to 8" of snow, it's supposed to continue snowing for another 5 to 6 hours, then pick up again tomorrow for another 18 hour snow storm. All told they think we'll have 2ft on the ground by Monday afternoon.
