Lawsuits. If they get up and move themselves, they're taking the risk of furthering injuries in to their own hands. If we move them then treat them, it's all our fault they were even injured in the first place because they felt fine right up until we intervened.
I get it...but when I got there, the ambulances were already there. No idea how long, I was about 800 yards away from the lights, so that much traffic had been stopped. So it took them more than 40 minutes to get them out of the car, into the ambulance, and headed out. Of course, you can't tell from looking, but the cabins weren't crushed, no rollovers, and the sides we could see weren't crushed in, so it didn't "look" that bad.

But 5 minutes after the ambulances rolled, as we rolled past the place, the wreckers already had the truck up on a flat bed, the car and the trailer ready to go...and they were all 300 feet up the road from where the guard rails and sideways tracks from the ambulances turning around showed the accident to be.

So they must have been out of the truck for at least 10-15 minutes, you'd think. But then, maybe they needed that bus to wait, for passengers from the car, or vice versa...

Yeah...just frustrating. Not meaning to Monday morning QB it all. But the last few accidents I've been around have been clusters. Could be the guys running the show, could be the idiots driving by, lord knows they can be beyond stupid, so I guess I can understand not letting the idiots have a chance to hurt anyone else. Like you said, it would all be someone else's fault, and the guys in uniform would get screwed either way.

Yeah, pretty much. We've been on scoop and go's that were nasty, and simple bumps and bruises that took forever. Then we've pulled all nighters too. Between fire clearing the scene for ems to work and cops doing accident reconstruction, it's really a crap shoot.

Well looks like we are getting another 8 to 12 inches of snow tomorrow

Just heard we could get 12 to 18 inches now. So we are either going to get hit hard or not much. I need to be a weather man. You can be wrong most of the time and blame it on the weather

Rain for me, I am going to be on the warm side of that storm. LOT of melting today, 39 for a high temp, 40's tomorrow, high 30's Thursday... snow piles are compacting and if I get the inch of rain they will really shrink!

My middle kid was busy removing ice and snow from the flat roof. He tossed 60 lbs of salt to remove the ice damn.

I saw a strange orange glow in the east today. Some said it was the "sun"? I thought it might have been Nancy and Chucky imploding again. Either way, it sure beat the rain/snow/fog/clouds I've seen for weeks on end. Mid 60s tomorrow, the weather lady said, with plenty of "sun"! Seeing the sun is on my bucket list, so... we live in hope

Up to 40 today, it’s still mid teens at night. Snow next week, but by then the snow we do have should be mostly melted.
