I was cleaning brass yesterday, and got a call from the old lady about dinner... so instead of finishing up a bunch of brass today, I rushed through it yesterday.

However, sitting here it occurs to me that there may have been some moisture in the brass still when I was priming. The primer pockets were clean and dry, but cartridge itself may have been a little damp.

If there was a little moisture left, did I just waste a bunch of primers, or will they be ok?

I would think as long as the primer is allowed to fully dry there should not be a problem. I know oil, even the trace amounts on the fingers, can kill a primer but water should evaporate leaving no residue. What I would do is wait about a week and test fire a few randomly selected primed cases. If any fail to go off or sound weak, replace the primers in all. if no problems, I would go ahead and load them, just fire them ASAP. Long term storage and a questionable primer do not mix.

I just don't think all of them would have been wet... I was thinking may be a few of them may have still had some water in the case after cleaning.

Meh... I will just load them up, and see what happens. Hopefully they go bang.

I have had the same issue happen to me before, and I always just prime a case, hand feed it into my gun and take it outside and squeeze it off to see if the primer pops. It's no louder than a standard cap gun, and works well to test them if you don't know about the integrity of the primers.

The primers I make out of match heads tend to draw moisture. I just dump them in a coffee filter and put them in a food dehydrator overnight. Good as new!
