What are the issues (legal) regarding selling preowned firearms.

I was thinking of making a post asking if people were interested in selling Hi-Point pistols. Then it hit me that there may be legal restrictions. Could you guys fill me in on this.

Face to face, there really are none other than verifying the person is in your state, and of age. Over state lines, and you will have to get an FFl to handle the transaction. IF you do go private party, besure both of you have a signed copy of a bill of sale, not a requirement, but a good idea in case the gun you sell to someone gets tracked back to you by ATF. Ask silicon wolverine aout that.

Caveat - those are the federal issues; there may be additional state or local laws and regulations to consider.
