For the DIY crowd who roll their own, you can convert an AK, uses the PPsH41 drums:

For those lucky enough to have purchased a Yugo M56 kit, there are semi auto build parts available for those now. You can also get a "P7" parts kit, a "sort of MP5" that takes PPs43 mags:

And then there is the ZK AR upper with side-feed magazine:

surplus TT and TTC models sell for aobut 200$. thats what i bought. there is commercially made 30 mauser which can be used in a firearm chambered in 7.62 tok. the tok is higher pressure than the mauser so you cant use tok ammo in a mauser firearm, but you can use mauser ammo in a tok firearm.

IIRC, the CZ-52 is notorious for firing pin failure (breakage) and grip panels cracking. I believe forged firing pins are sold in Shotgun News, so it's NBD to get replacements. That said, I believe this is an otherwise excellent, well made handgun. Ive been wanting one for years, and I better get one before they all dry up!

I didn't know about the AR uppers in 7.62x25...that would be freakin awesome. I will have to look in to that. That would be a cheap to shoot carbine.
