The names for the fullsize pistols make no sense to me. The C9 I get (compact 9), but JCP and JHP seem completely random.

I dont think i have ever heard it meaning anything. its just may be the designation hp gave to it.

more than likely a model designation. federal law requires each different kind of pistol to have a different model designation.

But seriously now, I did a search & couldn't find anything about the initials except that the P is for Polymer(of course).
I did however find out that the H & I in Hi-Point are for Haskell & Iberia from when they merged.
