I have been wanting a 223 heavy barrel for some low recoil medium range shooting. Buds Guns had a Marlin X7VH 223 bolt action with a 26" heavy barrel in stock after a long time without any in stock. Told my wife I had to have it and she said go for it so got it ordered today. Its supposed to be a tack driver under 500 yards. Will find out soon enough.

Bought an EXTAR EXP 5.56 AR15 pistol and took it shooting last week along with my HP 9mm carbine. The EXP is really light, went through two mags quickly and can actually be shot with one hand. A little hard to hold one handed but shoots better with two hands holding it. Hardly any recoil and no muzzle rise but....it is freaking loud !!! And the powder blast (concussion?) coming out of the muzzle brake is very noticeable. I was at an outdoor range and it was cold. Other shooters, from the side of me, were coming over to see what was blasting them from 20 feet away. I havent tried it with .223 ammo and they may be a little quieter.
After shooting the EXP the carbine was a pleasure. So quiet and relaxing compared to the frantic EXP. The 9MM shot flawlessly and was right on target at 50 yards. I think my next gun may be an HP 40 caliber carbine.

Am looking at getting one with a Sig Brace. Want something to ride 'shotgun' on the trip through The Badlands back&forth to the hospital.

Got to have a Sig Brace since at 59, I'm getting a touch of carpel tunnel. ;)
I hear ya !!! I have carpal tunnel, trigger finger on my right hand, arthritis in my hand, tennis elbow (from playing tugawar with my great dane) and a broken collar bone on my right side that didnt heal right...lol !!! I pretty much ignore it all. I shoot a lot, ride a ZX14R sportbike and still play tugawar with that stupid (but strong) dog....lol !!! Very little recoil from the EXP. Its the noise and burst from the muzzle brake that is bad.

Marlin Model 60 22LR with factory tags on wooden stock, tube loader, 4X scope installed and 22" barrel. Serial number dates it to 1993. Like new cuz it is new. A friend of mine bought it new and never fired it. Gave it to me for $100 and I am glad to have it. Came in a padded case that it has been resting in for the last 20 years or so. Seems like a shame to shoot it but all my guns get used so will have to dirty it up soon...lol !!!!

I have a Rossi 357 snubbie in stainless steel that I bought about 5 years ago from Academy Sports. It isnt very accurate (snubbie) but very powerful and capable of long distances. From several hundred yards away I can hit the sides of hills, big rocks, etc. It always surprises me how far it can reach. It would definitely be a lot more accurate with a longer barrel. The only thing negative about the snubbie other than accuracy is the recoil. Six shots and you can really feel it in your hand. Twelve shots and its time to quit...lol !!!

I have been trying for a new one. First an AR-10, 308, from PSA for under $600. Those are gone. Then a Taurus PT111 that a friend bought for $199. They are out of stock for that price. Then a Zastava M77 308 for $499. They are now $549. Cant win this week and I am too cheap to pay the higher prices !!!!

I really needed this one. Tower Brown Bess made somewhere between 1838 and 1860, .75 caliber, has a crown with GR below it, caplock cut down into an Indian gun so it could be shot easier from horseback. No I havent shot it. Looked around but none of my ammo would work in it....lol !!! Still doing some research but it sure is fun reading about it.

Thinking about buying a FEG SMC 380 Monday. I looked at it Thursday and told them I might come back. It only has one magazine, but the mags from my PA-63 fit it, and I have five of them. 200 out the door seems a little high considering what they used to sell for, but they are good pocket guns.
My wife bought me a new one in 2005. I think she paid $125. It still shoots great but is a little picky on ammo. Feed it Remington UMC FMJ 95 grain and there is never a problem. Hope you get it!
