Many years ago my girlfriend now wife was a police officer. Just prior to her entering the academy I helped her shoot a gun for the first time. My S&W 28-2 Highway Patrolman. She still has the target with her quarter size grouping.

After becoming LE she searched for her own 357 revolver. She found a slightly used Colt Python in a pawn shop. She brought me to the pawn shop to give my stamp approval before buying. It had some holster wear and was filthy. They wanted $650 (circa 2008). I scoffed and said she could do better and cheaper with a S&W.

So she didn't buy the Python. Within a couple of years, post marriage I would live to regret that decision on my part. And every time the topic comes up I get the eye roll followed by the "honey, remember the time...."

Well last night I got the opportunity to right a wrong. I bought the Mrs. a 1978 Python in pristine condition. The box is MIA currently and may yet be found. For myself I picked up a little German semi from the early 20's. An Ortgies in 6.35mm. Pic quality ain't great. But want to share without setting up a picture taking studio....

Ok, I swore off new gun purchases for my New Years resolution. Yah right. Ain't happening if I got acccess to the internet to read forums about all the cool guns available in the world.

The gun platform I'm most passionate about "right now" is the 1911. I have the best wife ever and is very supportive of my gun buying. So I make sure to include her in that endeavour cuz she likes guns too and is a better shot with a pistol than I am (she's former LEO).

We tossed our hats in the ring for a CMP 1911 last September. I got mine in October. She got called for hers this week. So I bought my wife a Valentine's Day 1911; Service Grade 1943 Ithaca frame and Colt replacement slide (1943ish).

For me I have a MKE AP5 in transit to my FFL. Spendy week. I've had to squeeze nickels to make them **** quarters. I don't think I'll be posting in this thread for quite some time. At least I hope not;)

Found a used HK P2000SK for a decent price. Hard to find used for some reason. Comes with 7 mags. Rather bulky for a “subcompact”. But going to give it a spin. I need to delete my GB account….

No this one was in 9mm. A buy it now option. Meanwhile I’ve got a bid cooking for a 92fs. Over in 5 days. Oops. Hoping I get outbid. I’m the only bidder since day one of a 7 day auction. I will be turning some long unused ones loose soon. Gotta figure out how to explain to the Mrs. why it is gonna be a bit ‘til we finish the bathroom remodel…

Is that a 40?

I limit my GB bids to King's. I can walk in and pick up without a transfer or paying shipping. Plus now I bid stupid low. That backfired on me once. I won two in less than 30 minutes!
If I win the 92fs, at least my two bids as the first bidder “ cuz ain’t no way it’ll sell for that cheap” will be 6 months apart.

Ok so I can’t play with the kids buying Italian made 92fs-es. I like the non warning label kind and for older ones like that prices are too high for me.

By my maths I can try something new for me. A 10mm semi auto. I went with a SA XDM Elite with red dot. Well the gun store was on my way home from the eye doc.;)
