What gun did you buy today?

I got a Colt Model 1903. And since I live in California I got to wait 10 days for it.
But I'd love to hear about everyone's new purchases!

Showing off the guns that you buy for yourself and your family is one thing. Your collection is enviable.

Bragging about buying guns and accessories that you intend to sell for profit while quietly trying to advertise your own company for free by pointing out that you're a vendor for two shitbird companies that stopped posting on the forum because they weren't allowed to pimp their businesses for free anymore once the new owners took over is entirely different. That's called being a douche.
Somebody's usually being a douche here, that's for sure. I've had a continuing conversation w/ Kirk about my business, and I've had no run ins w/ him over it. I don't sell here, and I don't ship, so I'm not pimping my business - I'm pointing out that I do have a financial relationship with the products that I am recommending, which is called being honest.

And it is pretty enjoyable to tell the wife when she gets home that I've only bought $2k of guns today - apparently it's a crime to share that enjoyment.
I agree, this thread is for people to celebrate new additions to their personal collections. Some of us save all year for a new purchase. We research and dream, try to figure out how we’re gonna scrape together some cash or wheel and deal to make that next acquisition. Then we can’t wait to share it here with like minded friends. that’s just my thought.

Which is why I didn't post what I bought today - I've been asked not to, and I respect that.

But yet you still found it necessary to let everyone know that your business made a purchase today.

Welcome to the forum, buy a mag catch that I sell for a profit! No, that's not pimping your business. Hey, I'm going to have a booth at such and such show, come see me! No, that's not pimping your business at all.

And it's kind hard to say you haven't been called out by staff for it when you just had a half dozen posts deleted in the past 24 hours because of it.

I might be a douche, but at least I'm not full of shit and lying through my dentures about it.

Go read the TOS/TOU again. You cannot represent a for profit company, including your own, on this forum without becoming a paid supporter. It is also prohibited to direct traffic away from this sight to any offsite vendor which provides you with financial incentives.

Did you know that Kirk had to reach out and get specific permission to keep his Cheapskate's guide on the forum? Not because he's not a registered vendor. As a staff member he's not allowed to make any profit from any product purchased by any of the members here. He could have been shitcanned and banned for even $1.

So who are you to pimp out your business and make a profit by recommending the products being sold by two shitbirds who were too good to become registered vendors and support this place?

You haven't finished thinking through that comment yet. Dwell on it a bit, it'll come to you.
No. I thought it through. There’s light….and there’s excessive. But really, I’m betting the engineering holds up.

No, I used the exact language Kirk told me to use, so am waiting for admins to get on the same page. Someone else in this thread asked me to not tell them about the guns I buy.
Yeah…but I assumed you would take the hint and start your own thread, something like “What gun did you buy for your business today?” rather than get all passive aggressive about it.

I used to spend time on a forum for milsurp weapons, there was an actual “competition” about who got the most guns in a year. Guys would list them, numbered, and quote their old post when new ones came in. I placed in the top 5 once, which I thought was pretty nifty considering a lot of those guys would buy 6 guns of one type from one dealer, keep 2 and sell the rest, but the 6 still counted. If you didn’t have over 60, you weren’t in the game.

Yeah….but, no….I don’t think you do.

But he won't, because he knows none of us care.

And he can't, because the TOS/TOU says it's a bannable offense to represent your business or services offered on this forum without paying to play.

Look at him trying to spin it in his favor with each person that agrees this isn't about what his business buys.
But yet you still found it necessary to let everyone know that your business made a purchase today.

Given that I'm a discussion w/ Kirk about this right now, and he told me the exact language to post, and I did that, I'm good w/ Kirk. He's in discussion w/ his minions, and I'll abide by whatever he decides.

I don't get paid to tout Thingmeister or Hightower Armory - I get a discount, same as any other dealer, if I buy in bulk. If I buy oneies twosies, I pay the same as everyone else. If you look at my enthusiasm for Thingmeister's mag catches, that's been the same throughout my membership here for years, b/c the Thingmeister mag catch was what inspired me to buy a HiPoint in the first place. I don't have any Thingmeister mag catches in stock, I just think it's the best addition you can make to a JHP or 4595.

You, as a prior admin, have history w/ Thingmeister & HighTower. I have just started carrying their products as a dealer. They've not asked me to advertise here, I just show my enthusiasm for their products b/c I think they're decent products, that's why I sell them.

This is a national board - I'm a local gun dealer. I'm not drumming up business here to come see me at a small gun show in north Texas. I also don't sell mail order - which is why I've not signed up as a sponsor, b/c it would be foolish of me to use my advertising dollars that way - advertise on a national gun board that I would be appearing at a gun show within driving distance of one other person - maybe.

You're looking at an AR-15 length bolt carrier. Think about why you don't run a short .308 buffer in a standard AR, and what would happen if you did. What would run smack into the back of the lower's buffer tube ring if you ran a short buffer in a standard carbine tube in an AR-15?

I'm in direct consultation with the EOL's now. Currently their stance is that, as any sort of dealer AT ALL for the products, regardless of being local and regardless of whether you sell only locally or get any sort of benefit from referrals, you need a Supporting Vendor agreement.

They have spoken.

Peace favor your sword,

Yep, just got your message. I'll post a goodbye thread & you can delete my account.

Hightower? Never had anything to do with HTA. What did happen is I brought back Thing and Mahan after they were banned by the previous administration. What did happen is I let them operate just like Joey, Sbucho, Josh Smith, and all of the other small guys on the forum by having them buy annual supporting memberships instead of full blown vendor accounts. The HISTORY is we got new owners and the new owners decided that NOBODY got free advertising and they raised the associated costs of advertising so we lost Alien Gear, Downrange, Longshot, and every single paid vendor went ever had.

They refused to comply with the new pay to play rules. Therefore they took their ball and went home. JSARMSCO and MCarbo sold shitty products, refused to guarantee their products, and got themselves run off by the membership.
Yep, just got your message. I'll post a goodbye thread & you can delete my account.
Huh.
Apparenty he WAS only here for the advertising, and not the socializing aspect of things?
Whod'a thunk it.

Global Ordnance/FIME Arex Rex Zero 1.

Another combloc pistol to go along with my "Designed for Spetsnaz" Arsenal AF-1.

I must admit it will fit the niche I have for a Sig P229/226 as it is completely metal gun/hammer fired. It's about as close as I can get to one without dropping 1k... and it is optic ready with threaded barrel. Should work well supprressed and Toni Systems makes a comp for it too (Italian Company) I found them looking for upgrades for the Arsenal, like guide rod etc.

Should be here some day this week.

OK picked it up today, took it straight to my range when I got home and rang some plates at 15 yds.

Very nice shooting pistol, it is surprising how close to a sig it actually feels. Yeah i still want my 226, but until I find one in decent shape at a price I am willing to pay, this will do!! New P226's get pricey...

I really love metal framed pistols. I like my polymers but man this just feels good.

I guess the only thing poly's have going for them anymore is everyone and their mother are going the multiple backstraps, and like H&K side plates so you can get a custom fit to your hand, only a matter of time the metal frame pistols get that customization.

Now for the real question, which red dot...

Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Machine gun Musical instrument accessory

Leaning the Holosun but I like the Kraken too... Also, the Sightmark M-spec optics are VERY under appreciated but the FDEs are waaaaay off.

I think I have a Venom too.

Decisions Decisions... anyone have any suggestions?

I bought this Robinson Arms XCR-M .308 in December, it’s ready for the range now. Excited to see how it does.

I bought this one today...taking it to the range in the morning, shooting the Glock 43 as well. Leaving the rest at home.

Feels good in the hands, seems to have a great trigger, and after an "out of the box" initial cleaning, seems to be well built too.

Ok, I swore off new gun purchases for my New Years resolution. Yah right. Ain't happening if I got acccess to the internet to read forums about all the cool guns available in the world.

The gun platform I'm most passionate about "right now" is the 1911. I have the best wife ever and is very supportive of my gun buying. So I make sure to include her in that endeavour cuz she likes guns too and is a better shot with a pistol than I am (she's former LEO).

We tossed our hats in the ring for a CMP 1911 last September. I got mine in October. She got called for hers this week. So I bought my wife a Valentine's Day 1911; Service Grade 1943 Ithaca frame and Colt replacement slide (1943ish).

For me I have a MKE AP5 in transit to my FFL. Spendy week. I've had to squeeze nickels to make them **** quarters. I don't think I'll be posting in this thread for quite some time. At least I hope not;)
