Hell, the all-time favorite 1911 .45's are blow-back pistols, and some of them are VERY finicky.
True, SOME are, but that still shouldn't detour people away from them. My RIA is a champ, it'll eat anything, but I refuse to run tula in anything I have. I've had a few gunsmiths tell me tulas cheaply made bullets will destroy a bore.

Honestly I reccomend standard federal for range time and hydra shok for defense.

I also reccomend for most average people to start off with a hi point 45 as opposed to a 1911 to start off with, because what's the point in having such a precision weapon and paying $600+ and not having the training, experience, and skill set to utilize it to its full potential? Yes they are beautiful, precise, and highly customizable pieces of art and defense, but why even bother owning it if you can't stop a threat with it? A hi point is just as accurate as a 1911 in the hands of most people. When you can keep nickel size groups at 25 yards then you can justify a 1911. And when you have both snatch up a thingmeister mag catch and share magazines between the both of them.
