I recently bought a box of fiocchi 9mm. I shot the whole box and had a couple left over. I noticed that one of the rounds had this yellow gritty kind of stuff in it. Does anyone know what it is? Would this have been dangerous to shoot?[IMG][IMG][IMG]

So you can did it out with a tooth pic or something similar?

Interesting they use the Hornady XTP bullets.

Looks like they got moisture on them. Is it a flaky residue? I've bought surplus ammo that looked the same. Worked fine.

It's rather noisy on the manufacturing floor so all the workers use them for earplugs. At the end of the day they're collected up and go into the last box out the door. Lucky you. You won the earwax lottery.

I would probably guess that it's some sort of wax or something either from tumbling or used to lube the dies when the bullets were stamped out.
