Last small rains we got, I noticed the gutter was spilling over in a place it shouldn't. Had decent 40's weather today, so grabbed the ladders to check out. Found some loose and missing gutter screws, so replaced the anemic screws (gutter installed over 15yrs ago by so-called professionals my parents hired) with some larger barn tin screws for better support and also noticed some frozen mud/leaves that had made a small dam right at and covering the down spout that needed cleared out also. Should be g2g now when it snows/rains.

Fireplace going, Wind blowing outside, w/temps in single to low double digits and cold. The kind of cold that goes to the bones.

Had to put some power steering fluid in stepson's car as it was making some noise, now seems good. Hoping it stays that way. Staying indoors as much as possible, just waiting for the Chief's to play and win the Championship this afternoon.

Sitting in my car in town, in wifi, with my computer on my lap, watching the circle of death, trying to download a recovery assistant thingie that will hopefully tell me why none of my office files will work offline. There's no progress bar, no where to cancel. I have no idea if this is even doing what it's supposed to or if I'm watching this spinning blue circle for fun.

Because they took Microsoft office and rolled it in to the "free" Microsoft 360 cloud unless you pay extra for offline access.

Yeah and its pissing me off because I've already paid all that crap and downloaded all that crap and used it offline many times. Suddenly no Bueno. But now that I'm involved in it, I'm updating a bunch of other shit too so hopefully once she's all updated and caught up it'll function.

I'm now trying to get it to uninstall norton. Which I've never had. Must be partnered up with 365 or something.

At this point in my life I would love to chuck all the tech and go old school.

But I would miss you guys too much.

So glad I have office 2007 on DVD... no cloud crap for me. I don't need to worry about file compatibility either, only use it for my own stuff.

Nursing my right wrist, carpal tunnel flare up form to much knife use the last 2 days. Going to be stuck with a brace for a few days. Cut up 3 NY strip primals and put 48 steaks in the freezer(had 49, ate one!), some extra thick for grilling. Got a deal on the whole primal cut, $8/lb vs $14/lb for already cut steaks. I know how to use a knife! Yesterday I trimmed and cut up the trim pieces off the ends(cut a little off to square it up then cut steaks) for stew meat and vac bagged it. Got 2 pounds of stew meat out of it.

Libre Office, or Open Office. Free, system agnostic, handles all MS stuff.

Argued with my cardiologist for about an hour. My most popular answers were, "how the fuck should I know" and "do I look like a cardiologist." The real icing on the cake was, "I'm not the one who had no idea his patient had another heart attack because another cardiologist in his practice tried to steal me from you."

All the tests he wanted to run were already run by my GP. Urine, blood, ultrasounds, MRI with contrast, trans esophageal echo, sleep study, the works.

Survey says! I'm fat, diabetic, and have severe obstructive sleep apnea..... ALL the same crap that's been wrong with me for YEARS. The only thing that changed was the acute renal failure 18 months ago. That's when my blood pressure went fucky and never came back.

He told me to get my A1C under 7. I pointed out that my A1C has been mid-6's for 3 years now and only tested higher during the renal failure and this last MI.

I hate it when they do that shit. It's like did they even bother to skim your chart for even 2 seconds before you showed up to your appointment?

And to think I'll be doing all of this over with new specialists and a GP soon.
