SOS (shit on a shingle, aka Chipped Beef on Toast), except it was ground beef and mashed taters instead of toast (shingle). Got the recipe off the internet. Another favorite internet recipe is (Senate) Navy Bean Soup.

You're right, I just think of a name for it! I'll have to get some real chipped beef and give it a try.

Dang that looks good!I never cook much when it is hot, don't have the appetite for a heavy meal...
Pigs in a blanket and a salad from the garden tonight, maybe some potato salad... some old fashioned coarse ground natural casing hot dogs for the protein. Good stuff! The beef ones are even better but sold out. I was lucky to find this package! Schweigert brand if you want to try them.
Looking in the larder to see what I have. Diced a couple of small onions, a large carrot, mashed up several cloves of garlic, chopped a couple of New Mexico peppers, sautéed in a bit of olive oil. Added some diced potatoes, a pound of Spanish sausage, and diced up a tomato. Dropped in a pound of dried lentils. Have it boiling now. Should be ready to eat in about 30 minutes. Don’t know how it’s going to taste, but it sure smells good.
I have been craving a stew, hope this turns out to be a good one.
