As you can see in the picture, when I pull the bolt back, the firing pin sticks out. I can't push it back. Is this normal or did I screw things up when I took the gun apart? The orange is a magazine follower. Thanks.

Thank you. What do you mean by CYA?
That’s “Cover Your Asssssssss”. You can cycle live ammo….but it’s not smart.

How do you load the gun if you can't stick a magazine in it? I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I just don't understand how not sticking a magazine in the gun fixes anything.
He thought you meant the bolt was stuck back. The Last Round Hold Open engages on empty mags.

So…nothing wrong. Quit playing with it. Take the gun out and shoot it, before you do like so many people do and start fiddling with the gun to make it better before you even shoot it, and screw it up. Don’t polish anything, don’t mess with anything, don’t take it apart. Just go shoot it.

The firing pin can set off a live round that is either out of the chamber or partially out of the chamber. It can fuck up body parts quick.

Not sure what experience you have with guns. Sounds like none. You need to get with someone who knows firearms before someone gets hurt.

Ask all the "stupid" questions you want here. No such thing as a stupid question when you are handling a lethal weapon. We will help as long as you don't go off on a bad path while getting a Youtube "education." Youtube is full of dumb asses that will lead you in the wrong direction.

Bullets from the magazine rest just below the firing pin. When you pull the bolt back to chamber a round, the firing pin gets simultaneously pulled backward and is engaged by the sear. Then, as you release the bolt, it goes forward and the round gets chambered. When you pull the trigger, the sear releases the firing pin, and the process is repeated -automatically.

So you are saying it's a problem or not?
