I haven't seen any post by Dusty in some time.
I hope that all is well.
He's lurking around here, he posted a day or so ago.
He just doesn't live here......lol
i saw him on FB a few days ago.
That is good to know. I wondering about him just this afternoon.
Basically, he takes a "sanity break" every once in a while.
Peace favor your sword,
And some of us just embrace the madness. To each his own.
took me awhile to get used it. hangin out on motorcycle forums for any length of time will bring out the Talon in ya.
What? They're not polite understanding gentlemen like we have here? How are they not all "Taloned"?
lol...i dont think i've ever seen anyone get a vacation in my Suzuki forum and the ADV Rider forum is so huge that nobody even gets to know each other unless you just hang out in a few threads together. there's a lot of good reading there buts its a massive forum. i did get a vaca once for bringing up a politians name in a thread expressly prohibeted from such. just the name, no opinion or anything and, boom, Taloned for 2 days!
I was a member of a car forum where it was strictly forbidden to bring up anything political.
One warning and you'd be banned for life.
They had an 'other car' section and that was it.
key word. you "was" a member
Wtf???? Lol. Ill just leave it at that!
Well technically I still am but I stopped posting.....
Better? You happy now?
it's the same with the chevy truck forum i'm on. what drew the line for me was a member that i highly respected was banned for "trolling." i don't think the admins there knew what the definition of trolling actually is. since then, i've posted once or twice, and just haven't gone back.
I was happy before.
Key words. "Stopped posting"
I'm just saying forums like that may stay on topic but they are boring as hell.
You get your car fixed or new performance parts put on. And you are done. Until you get the itch to do more
I still hang out on a Gretsch guitar forum. No moderators. The admin has a voting system in place and users can vote a topic or a post up or down. If a post receives enough down votes, it collapses the post, if a topic receives enough down votes, then the topic goes 'toxic' and when you click to open it, a question box pops up asking if you are sure you want to view it. This way, the community kinda polices itself, but there are times when a thread gets totally out of hand and the admin has to lock it.
that wouldnt be bad as long as members only had one vote per thread or comment which i would assume is how it works.
Well it's not about a popularity contest.
It's about communicating and sharing information and experience.
Says the unpopular kid.
Peace favor your sword,
* off topic alert *
I became class president one time in high school with one vote, my own.
Winner was disqualified as Mr. Popular already held another position in the student body.
I was the runner up with 1 vote.
They had a mutiny on their hands when it was announced.
I let the troops riot for 3-4 days before I gave up the position for ' lack of support'.
But I had my fun.
