I will be picking up my new C9 a week from Wednesday (as I don't have my CC permit yet) and I was wondering what type of ammo you guys would recommend for breaking in my new firearm. I've noticed on other posts that you shouldn't use JHP's until 300 or so rounds in. Any help is appreciated.

Walmart's in Texas are carrying the Federal 9mm Luger rounds for $8.97 a box. They are FMJs. I think you are right about waiting to try JHPs.

That sucks, my WalMart is charging $21 for a box of 100, plus sales tax is higher.

I've noticed on other posts that you shouldn't use JHP's until 300 or so rounds in.

I would think a "break-in" round wouldn't matter because you're just exercising the action. Go for the cheapest.

Cheapest you can get and save the JHP ammo for after break-in!

Winchester FMJ from Wal Mart, $19.99 for 100 rounds. I've heard some HP owners say they've had problems with this brand, but my (2) 995 carbines & C9 works just fine with them.

Uh, the price I quoted is for a box of 50 rounds. We also have the 100 round box of Winchester for ~$21.
