Mine is the S&W 1006 10mm, just a single stack, iirc 9+1 but of course the mighty 10mm so you don't need high capacity anyway...

Love to have a first gen but ANY 1006 would be a sweet grab!!

No such thing. There is ALWAYS another whale, and none of them are worth my life.
That said, an SVT 40 or an East German SKS at a non stupid price could be a nice find.
An old BRNO version of the CZ 75 would be cool.

An original Whitney Wolverine.

I actually saw (and shot) one once. A pair of old dudes brought one to the range I was at. It was a jam-o-mattic. The extractor claw kept slipping off of the rim and/or feeding in front of the claw. They didn't know what the problem was so I helped out. Pulled cartridges out of the chamber several times for them. But they let me shoot it so I was OK with that. :)

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

I envisioned this gun when I wrote the post! There are a couple more folks enamored with the W.W. as I recall... ;)

The only actual automatic revolver I know of - Webley Fosbery .455. And/or

Building Wood Rectangle Event Tree
Johnston Rifle - Marine issue, WWII

I'll never get either, but it's fun to dream

I'm a Humphrey Bogart fan so I'm diggin' it!

Groovy. I should have put a Krag Jorgensen on my list too.

I agree - a 30-40 "Craig" would hit the spot. Too bad I was born poor - I remember when they were selling for around $35 to 40 locally. Shoulda, coulda, woulda....

A Russian Black AK with an Orange grip or a SVD as the one carried by my father in the Angola War.

i send him this picture of my ak103 with the orange grip to keep the theme and he almost cried, too bad I can’t send it to him. He doesn’t talk much about the war but he told me “that rifle save his life many times”

The top of my wishlist is simple. A Browning Hi Power. I just can’t bring myself to pay the price that they command now days.
Haha u are gonna hate me now but I got a REAL BHP for $600 + tax and BGC at my LPS
(Local Pawn Shop) a few years back, with 2 magazines... it's a sweet shooter and I have at least 10 magazines now and accessories too.
Perhaps best shooting 9mm

C'mon, AL
it's an analogy, not equivalence :rotfl:
Then it’s a rather poor analogy. The one you chase at the expense of everything? The one you’ll die, before letting it get away? The one that, IF you got it, you’d quit? I don’t think that’s really what you mean here.
Read the book next time, brother. 😁

That particular symbolism has been, umm... "diluted" over the years. It common usage, it doesn't always carry that level of commitment/obsession any longer.

That said, if I found a Wolverine at a fair price, I'd have to think hard about what I wanted to sell to finance it. However, I usually find that my idea of a fair price and what private gun sellers think is one, is often, shall we said, out of sync? :)

Look on gunporker and the originals are asking price between $1,500 and $2,500. Some doofus there even believes that an Olympic Arms repop is worth $1,150. 🤣
