Think my pt140 will be gone as of monday so Im looking for a new 9mm. Ive narrowed it down to the three choices based on research and their prices all under 400 new. I thought of the s&w sigma but heard the trigger pull is a beast. Never held the Bersa but really liked the Stoeger and of course familiar with the Taurus.

Don't think you can go wrong with any of those. I think all are on this guys list... at least the full size versions are.

Thanks for the link. I was looking at the Taurus pt92 but a little out of my price range. I think its between the stoeger and the taurus. Im leaning stoeger because Ive always liked the beretta cougar and the rotating barell intrigues me.

Out of those choices, the Cougar is the best-- I have never liked .40 SW, but if I get one, I think it may be the COugar-- don't really need another 9 right now, but yo can't go wrong with one of theirs right now...

id shy away from taurus at this point in time. way too many stories about bad guns right out of the box and horrific customer service debacles trying to get said guns fixed. steoger cougars are made to much higher standard and stoeger customer service is nearly as good as HP is.

I never had one problem with my pt140. Never one jam, nothing. Never experienced their customer service because I never needed too! Ive decided on the stoeger.

I can't vouch for any of these weaons except for the 24/7. Bought mine a few weeks back, have put about 200 rounds through it and LOVE it. Two of my good friends have fired it (yesterday, actually) and both loved it as well. Feels great, great weight, easy on the wallet and not ONE single problem as of yet. It's the blue'd version with accessory rail. Also has the option of 17-round mags, if that's your bag ;) Yes, I do have one of those along with my (2) 10-rounders.

It's slightly above the others in price, but I've seen the SigPro 2022 for $450 delivered. I have and have owned some fine [and expensive] pistols, but the 2022 is now my favorite. It beats out my classic P225 as a shooter, and it's hard to go wrong with a Sig for under $500.

While I have never had an issue of any of my Taurii-- I have a PT111 Millennium (not PRO), my wife has a Pink PT111 MilPro, and I had a PT25 (which I sold 8*( )-- it seems that the QC at Taurus is lacking-- I have browsed many forums I frequent, and I would say these days Taurus is not doing so well namewise. Maybe they are cranking out too many guns to make a quick buck off the gun frenzy, but I am even leery of buying one. I had my eye on a
Model 327 SS, but now, I am not so sure--- the horror stories are there, and while many are gun snobs, there are quite a few that are real....

I didn't mind "gambling" $100 on my first HP (a CF380)-- if it sucked, I wasn't out much, but it was a great shooter, so I banked (I felt) with it. I am not ok with gambling several hundred and then hoping that Taurus's customer service doesn't screw me over...

I still like Taurii, but as screwed up as it seems, I am more willing to gamble on a Rossi than a Taurus right now--makes no sense, but it just a gut feeling.

man I'm lonely, I have an SR9 and with the new trigger and after breaking it it it seems to shoot abit better. Felt kinda gritty almost at first but its put together VERY tight and what I like the most is it's VERY thin so it can be easy to conceal to. The 17 round mags are VERY firm to load, the speed loader that comes with it is a requirement. I loaded my mags up and let them sit for awhile to loosen that spring up. Mines in stainless and I picked it up for 400 even, it's very high value there to me. Check out

http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger-SR9-2.htm

and nutinfancy has a review on the SR9 vs the G17 on youtube. That's what I'd go with, but to me I wanted an american made striker fired hi cap 9mm and that narrowed it down ALOT lol. If your looking less at ccw and more for a house gun though, check out the P95 it's a well proven hand gun. Nutinfancy has a review on that as well. But again I'll throw in that american made was a big deal to me. Only non US made guns I have is a firestorm mini 45 and a bersa 380.

That said if your looking for high value also, check out the Bersa's in 9mm, my 45 shoots great and I love how easy they are to take down but honestly for the price they run you may as well get a P95 I'm sure the rugers a higher quality gun.

Think you have the wrong thread^

Anyhow. Went to a few guns shops today and handled the stoeger and the sr9. I also handled a Beretta 92f and the Taurus p92 variant. Nothing felt better than the 92 so I waited to see if I could get a good deal on our local classifieds. Low and behold! Here she is with my c9

Beretta 92f with only 150 rounds through it. Paid $450 for the bad boy! SOrry for the bad pic quality my wife took the slr so I am stuck using my camera phone.A little more than I wanted to spend but I really got one of the pistols I've always wanted! :D
