I thought I had shared this with you and someone pointed out I had not.

Here's the reason we were gone so long.

We are all really sorry that this outage happened.

That's the same canned statement issued over at KTOG. So what's the real story? Who are you covering for?:p

  3. It was just a coincidence that the internet slowed to a crawl, several unrelated sites down, as well as those on the same servers. All at the same time.

Nothing to see here, move along...

Thinking it's the same statement cause they are on the same servers.

    So, it's the same reason.

And the servers seemed to have come back, but the long time was that sync of files.

Each forum has been tweaked by previous people and not all tweaks were the same. So, the techs had to analyze each forurm's tweaks and set them back up.

As to internet being slow at same time. I have no information that it was a contributing factor.

I started to freak out. This is the best forum I am on, and I thought it was history.

Did that "web neutrality" BS pass? I'd start looking there.
Might be time to "LOCK&LOAD", you people! </ross perot>:foilhat:

I don't know if web neutrality thing passed or not but my internet provider just did some kind of major update. My other devices (phone & tablet) auto updated a lot of stuff too. Also, I've been going through tinfoil hats like crazy lately. What's up with that?

Maybe they are just getting ready for the major economic disruptions which will
hit in mid-Sept and peak Oct. 20th when the U$ loses reserve currency status...

Jokes are OK, but any serious discussion of a political hot-button like Net Neutrality will get moved to the Politics & Religion sub of the Dark Rooms.

Besides, everyone knows it was George Busch's fault.

    Peace favor your sword,

If you haven't noticed, I have these little nicknames for each POTUS running way way back, indicating the level of contempt I have for each of them as individual politicians.

John "F. stands for what?" Kennedy
    Lydon "Big" Johnson
Richard "The Nix" (as if I needed a diminutive)
    Gerald aFord
    Jimmy Cartier
    Ronald Raygun
George H.W. Busch (or Busch I)
    Bill Clitton
    Busch II
    "O"

I'll let you dig the net to figure out what "O" is. But it's insulting and representative of the contempt for which I hold the man.

    Peace favor your sword,
    Kirk

If Al Gorey hadn't invented the internet, then we wouldn't even be having this discussion..... :foilhat:

    Austin started it! :D

Trust me on these 2 dates, Kirk... the second is going to happen with or without
the first having a meaningful event. That is the day they decide if China is going to be
a part of the"basket" of currencies that the IMF uses. HUGE Consequences for the U$D!
Besides, this is economics, much more than it is politics. I am also almost as confident
of this happening as the Second Coming. Almost, but not quite ;)
