By now most here know Thing Meister Fabrication for his incredible wood grips for the HP pistols and mag catch for JHP models , anyway I had him customize some wood grips for my NAA mini revolvers. (will post those in the proper section). Was looking around his sight and noticed he is trying to create a wood stock and/or furniture for HP carbines. I for one hope he is successful his work is stunning.

Link your wood grips to here, I wanna see those! :D

IMO a wood stock would be kinda stiff, in price
But if it can be done, I bet the Thing-Man can do it!

    "THING" does some fantastic work!
Does he make an insert to go between the last 2 finger extensions?

  5. WOW! That's awesome work.

Wood on the carbine ... I'd like it. I have a strong feeling that I don't have the coin to afford it though. Plenty of folks probably can so I hope to see it!

These are based on cvang grips I needed the extra finger groove for my larger hands.

i love wood stocks but that just looks ridiculous lol

i got the action seated in the stock. but the trigger is burried. so i need to fabricate a new mag lock and trigger. overall i think it looks really neat so far!

  10. Sounds like it would make it look similar to a Marlin Camp 9. That would mean it wouldn't be an evil black gun anymore. Melvin would order one. Blumberg and Feinstein will remove you from their mailing list. It's all good!

  11. The NAA mini revolvers just jumped way up my wish list!!! Maybe not to the number one spot but definitely in the top three.

  12. Nice work, looks good so far. What stock did you start with? Is that off a 10/22?

    My Oh MY!
    Mole Hopes It IS!
I have a polymer 10/22 stock with a wire folding rear, that I got
in the clearance bin at an LGS.. I could copy that in POLY
and see what all it takes, or send it to my buddy THING
    to experiment with? :D

L.O.P. looks mighty long, Lane...

  16. Problem is the trigger and mag release is buried in the stock as it is now.

That's why I asked if it's a 10/22 stock. I made a jig to route out the recess for a 10/22 and if that is a 10/22 stock I can route the recess in a wood blank and play around with a design that'll expose the trigger. Of course, even if it's not, hmmmmmmmmm....

I have to think about this. Might have to break down my 995 and take a closer look at it.

Yes it is a 10/22 stock. the length added is about 6". Almost looks like a springfield M1A1 midget. there is a lot of inlet in the stock that would not be necessary if you were making this from a blank, but im working with what i got! the mag catch should be easy. its the trigger thats gonna take some finagling.

  18. I wasn't planning on picking up another Hi Point carbine but you've got me thinking. On the other hand I just ordered a keychain for my 995 so it'll be coming out of the stock any way. Guess that's as good a time as any to take a few measurements...

I edited my post, the poly stock I have IS for a 10/22 and is
a pistol grip stock... Believe it is a Butler Creek:

Would not work as an R&D platform for wood, I do not believe.
