Just unboxed my Hi Point 40S&W. I was surprised to discover the feed ramp shiney and unpainted. As well as the firing pin area. This is a od green slide version. I don't know if this is just on the green slide versions but I'd like to think its MOM listening to our needs. Either way it saves me some work.. headed to the range next.

When you bread it down after the range trip see if there is any scaring on the top of the breech block. My .45 did. The round places in the slide were scraping it. I ground them down and all is well.

My new 40 jcp also came all polished, no paint. Fired flawlessly right outta the box. Maybe hi point isn't painting the ramp anymore.

  6. My new JHP came with the ramp coated.

Wonder when they're going to listed well enough to hear us that we want a real Picatinny rail and not this abomination 50% mule thing they got now.

The JHP is made at the Haskell plant. 45 ACP handguns only.

The Iberia plant makes the JCP 40's

Mansfield plant covers all the others.

From what I read on occasion they CS is not identical. Apparently neither are some small things like a coated or polished feed ramp.

    It is what it is.

Im glad I dont need to do much on my 40. Ill order a mahan sight like my other 2. Gonna try the pachymar sleeve on this one. Also the flush fit mags. I sure like them in my 45.

I just got a new C9 2 weeks ago & the feed ramp on it was painted . You'll like the flush fit mag for the. 40 cal, tried mine out last weekend for the first time & it shot perfect with the new mag. It makes the pistol look much better than the "battery pack " hanging out of the grip

New grip sleeve. Its actually od green. Looks zombie green in pic but it matches the slide.

    Before that: Firing Pin Block.

Say it with me. Firing. Pin. Block.

I'd prefer it linked to the trigger, but, heck, link it to the safety lever if you must.

    Peace favor your sword,
    Kirk
