The things we do for love, yeah Swaga? Or whatever. "Come along" they say. It'll be fun, they say. So we go - it sucks. Least you're prepared for the Zombies. ;)

Our Christmas party...I start cooking 40 lbs of Prime Rib at 1:30 PM, go do AcaDec practice...that means reading a bunch of biased BS about the history of India...then at 3:30 go do some grading, about 5 PM I put some Christmas music on the sound system in the lunch room, heat the Aus Jus and set up some tables for the stuff other teachers are bringing. 5:45 I pull the meat at about 135 degrees, tent it up to rest, and tell the boss we are ready. About 6 I start slicing beef onto plates, and about 6:25 I get to sit down and eat with my wife and a few friends...nice medium rare prime rib, baked potatoe, rolls... Then after a while, a few teachers and their wives, and the principal, offer to help clean up, so we do that, and then I get to take the leftovers home...French dip sandwiches the next day!:p

Not much need for a gun, no booze, we all know each other...it's nice.

    Ours is in January.
  6. Be alert to any arguments. Do not sit with your back to the door. Sit by an exit.

    Otherwise have a good time.
  7. Definition, Christmas party: a bunch of people who back stab, complain and bit€h about each other, smile and pretend to like each other.
Nope not me. If I think your an a$$ hole the rest of the year I'm not changing my opinion just because it's Christmas

Life is too short to work with jerks.

At some point...you gotta admit, you aren't 25 anymore..and even when you were, you couldn't really dance that well.

Went to the wife's work Christmas dinner. Not to bad because most of her co-workers surf so I have something to talk about. Skipped my work party to put up the Christmas tree, decorate it and spend quality time with the family.

Christmas parties at the casino were fun. Casino games that were employee only, tons of drawings for cash(I walked out with $5k one year)... on top of the regular bonus based on years of service.

The wife is a stay at home mom. The women at church had their party Thursday night. Women only...I kept the girls and we went shopping for a gift for mom.

But she brought home a bunch of good, home made cookies....seems like I won that deal.

My work "party" was also Thursday. It consisted of everyone leaving at 4 instead of 5 and going to the wine bar on the corner. Everyone had to buy their own food and drinks. I stayed at work, got some stuff done and left about 4:45 and took 15 minutes of sick time. I've had a nasty cold for the last 3 days and barely have a voice.
