I haven't seen one of these in here since I've been here, so sorry if this is a rehash of a previous thread. Favorite bands, GO!

Cures for boredom:

Nightwish (power metal) (Oceanborn or Dark Chest of Wonders albums. TRUST ME ON THIS)
Kamelot (good slightly over-the-top metal fun!)
Social Distortion (... do I even need to explain..? :D)
Fair to Midland (think metal meets Ren Faire.. pretty cool)

and yes, I also like some of the older-skool stuff... The Temptations, the Supremes, Chicago, Europe.. ;D also good silly fun.

Favorites? Hmm toughie.

I loved Tonic's album "lemon parade". After that Tonic was just kinda...bleahhh.

Always kinda liked the band "Live"

A couple of my all time favorites are AC/DC and metallica. (Unforgiven 3 is great off the new album)

I cant think a lot others.... I mean I like heavier stuff but usually its just a few songs from any particular band.

I like some country and rap as well.

I haven't heard of ANY of those, heh.
Someone else listens to Nightwish and Kamelot!? Holy crap! I love me some power metal, but I like death metal, thrash metal, speed metal, and plain metal, as well as hard rock.
Hard to say band wise because I listen to a wide range of songs but here are the cd's I bought most recently:

Green Day - Dookie
Pantera - Official Live: 101 Proof
Ramones - Ramones Mania
Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil
Rehab - Graffiti the World
Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
Seether - Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces
Korn - Untitled
Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
Atreyu - Lead Sails Paper Anchor 2.0
Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold
The Spinners - The Very Best Of

My alltime #1 song is: Killing Me Softly by Roberta Flack

I like anything from Apocalyptica, Johnny Cash, Blue October, and many, many more.
I always keep Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power and a random Metallica album or two in the truck. That stuff perks me up after a long day, gets me fired up before a workout and is great to drive around to.

Cowboys From Hell is THE quintessential Pantera album IMO...
Most of those bands were around in the late 60's to mid 80's maybe that's why you never heard them. I'm 50 and have a collection of about 400 vinyl LPs and 350 CDs. A lot are semi-obscure bands or acts.

win! not too big myself on the death metal and black metal... that stuff gets a little scary for my taste, heh. Cradle of Filth and their ilk give me nightmares! But Kamelot and Nightwish are the two bands I could never get tired of. I once had Oceanborn in the cd player in the truck for a few months solid. They are just that good. :p Also, you forgot hair metal! Europe? Dragonforce? ^_^

I had Avenged Sevenfold in the cd player in the truck for the last week and I'd flip over to the cd when the songs on all three major radio stations all sucked. After this week.. I've reached my Avenged tolerance for the month.. think I've overdosed actually. That's ONE way to kill your love for your favorite band, ehhhh!

Also good stuff: Enya, most celtic stuff, clubby boppy techno, almost everything Muse ever put out, oh and one I bet no one's heard of: Royksopp. They're like... electro-techno-pop. Good stuff! :D
