I haven't seen one of these in here since I've been here, so sorry if this is a rehash of a previous thread. Favorite bands, GO!

Cures for boredom:

Nightwish (power metal) (Oceanborn or Dark Chest of Wonders albums. TRUST ME ON THIS)
Kamelot (good slightly over-the-top metal fun!)
Social Distortion (... do I even need to explain..? :D)
Fair to Midland (think metal meets Ren Faire.. pretty cool)

and yes, I also like some of the older-skool stuff... The Temptations, the Supremes, Chicago, Europe.. ;D also good silly fun.

I got to hang out with Three Doors Down a bunch of years ago, before their song "Kryptonite" went triple platinum. They are a bunch of great guys. We ended up sitting around on some lawn chairs playing guitars drinking beer they had stashed in 48 quart ice chests. The only reason I got to go back stage with 'em is because we played football against each other in High School. I'm from Ocean Springs Mississippi, and they are from Moss Point, which is right down the road.

As far as music, I love classic rock and most modern rock and some metal every now and again. Most of the bands already mentioned in this thread just about works for me.

win! not too big myself on the death metal and black metal... that stuff gets a little scary for my taste, heh. Cradle of Filth and their ilk give me nightmares! But Kamelot and Nightwish are the two bands I could never get tired of. I once had Oceanborn in the cd player in the truck for a few months solid. They are just that good. :p Also, you forgot hair metal! Europe? Dragonforce? ^_^

I had Avenged Sevenfold in the cd player in the truck for the last week and I'd flip over to the cd when the songs on all three major radio stations all sucked. After this week.. I've reached my Avenged tolerance for the month.. think I've overdosed actually. That's ONE way to kill your love for your favorite band, ehhhh!
Snap I forgot about the hair metal, *facepalm* I've definitely ODed on some bands before, but generally after a couple of weeks I'm fine again :p Here's my favorite power metal

Sonata Arctica
Dragonforce
Kamelot
Hammerfall
Nightwish

I'm not big on Cradle of Filth, they're just...weird. Sweedish Progressive Death Metal is serious win though.

You have three out of five of my favorite bands listed there, heh. So we CAN get along just as long as we're talking about headbanging, lol. I'll have to check out the Swede metal and those two others you mentioned, it's just the satanic stuff where all the lyrics are nothing but growling that kinda turn me off. My ex was into COF and I just didn't get it.
tool is great and ya cant go wrong with primus! :D
I just had a buddy stop by the house, so we broke out the guitars and jammed out a bit. I just changed the strings on my 12 string and MAN did it sound like gold!!!

We played some REO Speedwagon, some Charlie Daniels, Lynard Skynard, Eagles, Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots and Garth Brooks. It sucks that I now have orders out of here, I didn't even know this guy could play!!! So, just out of the guys I work with, I have a guitarist, a drummer and a bassist.... DAMN IT!! We could have had a band!!!!

Sometimes the Military really REALLY blows.
Muse is one of the bands on my list to see before I die. Knights of Cydonia is one of the best songs ever.

Hey unre I have a box set of the original LS I think you would love. Three Cd's some unrecorded stuff.
This is tough. I listen to everything really. Favorite band though is definitely Metallica as I grew up on metal. Other than that, I've been listening to a lot of blues lately, mostly Joe Bonamassa and Jonny Lang. I've also been listening to Depeche Mode a lot. It's weird my listening habits. Today I listened to Thriller, some Pantera, 2Pac, and then some tuba music as I am a tuba player. So it's everything really. It just depends on the mood that I am in. Also if you like Dragon Force my friend got me listening to Rhapsody of Fire who are absolutely epic.
my favs....hmmm....rush of course, front 242 older industrial....red thunder....ulali.....zeplin of course......they might be giants for the heck of it.....and a little 2 piece from MO called Clatter....alot more than this, but dun wanna hijack here
....Today I listened to Thriller.....
i totally forgot about Michael Jackson, I am adding him to my list.
I've always had a soft spot for swing. Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorcey, etc...... I also really like Maynard Ferguson and Miles Davis. But I'd have to say that Ray Stevens' rendition of Misty is one of my all time favorites.
I have the Essential Glenn Miller on 2 CD's in my reloading room. I LOVE the music from the WWII era, as that's what I grew up listening to when I'd go to my Grandma's house. Good stuff, and great call citori59!!!

Glenn Davis? You mean Miller right? The closest thing for Glenn Davis to be on the airwaves is a sportscaster... :tongue2:
