Does anyone know why the M70's have that dorky looking huge rear sight? Most of the videos I have seen show them with a small rear sight.
Eastern block countries like "robust" engineering!! They are built like tanks and as heavy as one at times... have you seen the scopes they use compared to the more modern and sleeker American/Euro stuff. Then again they do work and take a beating, just look at the AK, not so pretty (well to me they are) but no one can say they aren't great for what they are built to do!!Does anyone know why the M70's have that dorky looking huge rear sight? It's an adjustable rear sight designed to fit the dovetail already milled for the fixed rear site it replaces. This means no additional machining.Does anyone know why the M70's have that dorky looking huge rear sight? Most of the videos I have seen show them with a small rear sight.
Still looks hideous. LOL! The original sights look so much nicer. It's an adjustable rear sight designed to fit the dovetail already milled for the fixed rear site it replaces. This means no additional machining.

Peace favor your sword,

I think maybe it sits too high and therefore screws with the muzzle angle.Still looks hideous. LOL! The original sights look so much nicer.
But still thinking about getting one![]()
I recently went through this when I made an impulse buy. Luckily I was able to get out of it. The rest on the grip and the adjustable sight are there to add import points.Does anyone know why the M70's have that dorky looking huge rear sight? I swapped a sccy rear metal sight on a keltec P11 which was plastic. Had to file it down to fit. I used a knife stone.I recently went through this when I made an impulse buy. Luckily I was able to get out of it. The rest on the grip and the adjustable sight are there to add import points.

I understand that after the purchase, it is common to fit the sight from a Zastava M57 as they will fit the dovetail, only needing to be filed down.

You have piqued my interestI just ordered one of these direct from the original importer. rguns. Theirs do have the original sights and two mags.
Ordered Monday, received on Wednesday. Wiped a bit of cosm off. Outside was covered. Inside seems packed with it also. You have piqued my interest
Has yours shipped yet?
I found some and ordered it. Pricey, but not real bad. It was sold out in about an hour.

mine arrived at the local toy store.I needed a small pocket piece since now that I'm out & about in southern Dallas, I'm a more exposed target.
And nursing scrubs spell easy target.
Got one ordered.
My M70 looks like it is a truly new one. Post 11 above. Rguns give you two mags per pistol. They all have the original sights on them. I asked before ordering. Rguns is the Importer. They sold the other guys the ones that are lower grade,So every pic of a 70 has the small fixed rear sight, who’s getting them with the large adj. rear?
Years ago I picked up a Zastava M88a 9mm single stack cheap, not super accurate but a lot of Cold War cold steel fun. Been wanting a 70as well since I started stacking .32 for my P32. Then the surplus Beretta 81s dropped and I grabbed one. No regrets, but when I started looking for 70s again the examples I was seeing from places like Classic were pretty sad. Did not realize Rguns still had them.
How’s the spare mag price & availability?
